As the 2020 wedding season has been so affected by coronavirus, many couples who intended to get married this year have decided to postpone.
This, of course, makes it a frantic race for available dates in 2021 and compromise may be key to getting a new date at all. So, with couples still hoping that 2021 will enable them to have their dream wedding, considering a midweek date rather than a weekend might be a sensible option.
By being flexible with regard to a new date, couples may find it easier to postpone and reschedule for the day they want as the venue and suppliers should be able to switch more easily. What’s more, a weekday wedding can often work out to be a little less costly.
And, if a mid-week wedding trend does gain momentum, it may even lead to a bumper year in 2021 which could provide a welcome and necessary boost to the industry.
Even though government guidance currently limits weddings in England to a maximum of 30 attendees, when people can celebrate in bigger numbers, they probably will – which holds out hope for guest lists next year.
Of course, though some couples are willing to wait until next year to tie the knot, others just want to get married as soon as they can, despite the restrictions and plan on a big celebration next year.
Either way, the 2021 wedding season certainly looks very busy and very exciting.
